There are three classes of hi-visibility clothing and garment types are grouped into three classes based upon the continuity provided, with the classes dictating the minimum quantities of background and retro-reflective materials used.
Class 1: REFLECTIVE MATERIAL - 0.10 m2 FLOURESCENT MATERIAL - 0.14 m2
Class 2: REFLECTIVE MATERIAL - 0.13 m2 FLOURESCENT MATERIAL - 0.50 m2
Class 3: REFLECTIVE MATERIAL - 0.20 m2 FLOURESCENT MATERIAL - 0.80 m2
