The difference and classification of reflective fabrics

2024-05-29

What is reflective fabric? Reflective fabrics can be roughly divided into: ordinary reflective fabrics, high gloss reflective fabrics, and bright silver reflective fabrics based on their reflective brightness, composite technology, and color.

The reflective fabric is gray in color, and its glass microbeads have not been aluminum plated. The reflective brightness is generally around 5 (cd/lx. m) ²) - 20 (cd/lx. m) ²) Left and right, the washing standard is not required and is suitable for sewing safety protection products that do not require high reflective brightness. The bright reflective fabric is silver gray during the day, and aluminum coated glass beads can be clearly seen on the surface. The reflective brightness is 250 (cd/lx. m) ²)  To 420 (cd/lx. m) ²), Wash more than 15-25 times with water (ISO6330). Suitable for sewing in safety protection products with certain requirements. For example, various reflective vests and other lightweight fabrics. The bright silver reflective fabric is displayed as metallic silver during the day, using aluminum coated glass microbeads with a reflective brightness greater than 420 (cd/lx. m) ²), Water washing greater than 50-100 times (ISO6330), dry cleaning greater than 50 times (ISO6330), and industrial washing greater than 50 times (ISO6330). Suitable for sewing safety protection products with high reflective brightness and high washability requirements, such as high-quality reflective vests or reflective raincoats.

In addition to reflective fabrics, conventional reflective materials include reflective heat transfer film, reflective flame retardant fabric, reflective elastic fabric, soft fabric reflective fabric, the latest dazzling fabrics, and reflective printing.

The chemical fiber reflective fabric uses 100% chemical fiber as the base fabric, consisting of wide-angle and exposed high refractive index glass microspheres adhered to the fabric liner. The TC reflective fabric uses 70% polyester and 30% cotton as the base fabric, consisting of wide-angle and exposed high refractive index glass microspheres adhered to the fabric lining. Compared to TC reflective fabric, synthetic reflective fabric is lighter and thinner. Reflective heat transfer film is a reflective material that uses PES as the substrate and is formed by the adhesion of wide-angle and exposed retroreflective glass microspheres to hot melt adhesive. It is an elastic multifunctional product suitable for safety, sports and leisure, outdoor lighting and clothing. It can also be made into rolled edges, badges, computer carved into various shapes, silk screen logos, etc. The surface of the reflective flame-retardant fabric is composed of wide-angle, exposed high refractive index glass microspheres, which are adhered to durable cotton back shirts, and have high flame retardancy and heat resistance. Suitable for safety protection in fields such as fire protection, petroleum and petrochemical, and power generation. Reflective elastic fabric is made of polyester or nylon as the substrate, with two types of elasticity: single-sided elasticity and double-sided elasticity, and has a certain degree of ductility. Suitable for various clothing surfaces containing elastic fabrics. In addition to sewing, it can also be processed by high-frequency pressure welding.
